GoMapp – is a mobile transit app designed to map public transport routes, stops and other public transport related information. Internet connectivity is not a requirement, as GoMapp will use your GPS coordinates while you are recording. The app has been used during a mapping project in the Cape Town region by a group of mappers.
After downloading GoMapp, users simply enter the details of the route they are about to travel. These details include vehicle type and route information. Once the route has been captured the commuter can simply tap the start button when the transport moves and occasionally record a stop along the way by tapping the same button. On completion, the commuter can tap and hold the record button to capture arrival time and final destination.
The captured route can be reviewed on the Mapp app before uploading to the GoMetro database to provide the world with the route you mapped.
Download GoMapp and become part of a big community of mappers, who want to improve public transport services.
NOTE : Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
